COVID19 creates surge of interest in wills, health care documents

According to a 2020 survey conducted by caring.com, only 23% of American adults have a will, and only 6% have an advanced health care directive that will speak for them if they become incapacitated. The fear of succumbing to COVID19 now has many people eager to get their affairs in order. The Karp Law Firm is receiving a sharp increase in calls from people who want to create a will and advance health care directives.

Attorney Joseph Karp recently commented on this surge of interest in a Treasure Coast newspapers article. Read it here.

In a recent CNBC interview, Dr. Sarah Norris of The Bronx said about 1 in 4 COVID cases at her hospital have such significant breathing issues that they are unable to speak. “We want to hear your voice through your health-care proxy and living will,” she said.

Our law firm is open and functioning, so call us at 561-625-1100 or email klf@karplaw.com to schedule a “virtual” consultation with an attorney to discuss your will and advance health care directives. We will be delighted to assist you.
