Veterans Taking Honor Flight On November 5

On Saturday, November 5, Southeast Florida Honor Flights is escorting a group of veterans to Washington, D.C. to tour the memorials that commemorate their service: the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, and the National Iwo Jima Memorial. Honor Flights is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on donations. Volunteers accompany participants, many of whom are elderly and have mobility issues.

The Honor Flight begins early in the morning and ends when the plane returns to Palm Beach Airport, where the group traditionally receives a well-deserved hero’s welcome.  All are welcome to participate in Operation Homecoming – bring your signs, banners and cheers. Meet at Terminal B before 8:20 p.m., when their flight is scheduled to land.
