How to Pay Medicare Premiums Through Online Banking

Medicare premiums may be paid by credit or debit card, check, or via Medicare’s Easy Pay system. But there is another way to pay that some beneficiaries may find even more convenient: Through your bank’s online bill payment system.

To use this payment method, you must first determine if your bank offers online bill payment. Some banks may charge a fee for the service. To set up online bill payment you will need to furnish your bank with your Medicare ID number, the amount of your monthly premium, and the remittance address of the biller: Medicare Premium Collection Center, P.O. Box 790355, St. Louis, MO  63179-0355. The charge will appear on your monthly bill as “CMS Medicare Insurance.”

You may have the charge processed automatically each month, or you can go online monthly to do it yourself. If you are having the bill paid automatically, be sure to notify the bank if your premium amount changes.
