Attorney Karp tapped to head FL Bar Elder Law Committee

The Florida Bar Elder Law Section’s new committee on financial products will be chaired by Certified Elder Law Attorney Joseph Karp. The committee was established to protect Florida seniors from exploitation by those promoting inappropriate financial products. Of particular concern is the indiscriminate promotion of annuities as a vehicle for achieving Medicaid eligibility, often without consideration of the potential tax and other financial ramifications on the client and family.
