Longtime estate planning clients Maria Woods asked Attorney Karp to tell her story after she passed on. In 2004, Attorney Karp fulfilled his pledge, and Ms. Woods’ story became national tribute to a true patriot. A German immigrant who became an American citizen, Ms. Woods was grateful for the opportunities she’d found in her adopted nation — so much so that she took the unusual step of leaving the bulk of her estate to the U.S. government. Her story appeared in the Palm Beach Post in a feature article by Tim O’Melia entitled “Immigrant Leaves Most of Estate to US”, then the Boston Herald, Miami Herald, St. Petersburg Times, Sun Sentinel, Tallahassee Democrat, Augusta Chronicle, and then broadcast over WKMG Radio Orlando and National Public Radio’s Morning Edition. Read the article
