In 2026, Floridians will vote on a variety of issues and candidates. The primary election is Tuesday, August 18. (The general election is Tuesday, November 3.) Here are two important points to keep in mind if you wish to vote by mail:
In order to vote by mail in the primary election of August 18: Your request for a mail-in ballot must be received by your local supervisor of elections office no later than August 6 at 5 p.m. You must submit a request for a mail-in ballot even if you voted by mail in 2024. Your actual ballot for the primary election must be returned by 7 p.m. on August 18.
If you renewed or replaced your Florida drivers license or state identification card after July 31, 2024: Contact your local Supervisor or Elections office to make sure it has your updated information. A mismatch between the numbers of your new ID and what the office has on file could result in your being denied a mail-in ballot.
